About Us

Anthony O’Brien, the owner of the company, grew up watching his father who was an independent contractor for the Freihofer Baking Co.

His father had an incredible work ethic and as young boy Anthony knew he wanted to own his own trucks one day. After driving trucks for other people, Anthony decided it was time to work for himself. This lead him to start LKQ Transport, LLC, which is named after his three children Lucius, Kailey and Quinn.

Their first customers came through brokers as well as one run dedicated to recycling cardboard.

This dedicated run was first noticed as Anthony and Carrie were working tirelessly to find new business.They found an owner operator looking to retire and sell his trailers and client contracts. The dedicated run kept LKQ Transport busy for six months, but it became obvious that many of the trailers needed a lot of work. Where others would have called it quits, they decided to dig in even further making many of the repairs themselves, continuing business with this customer to this day.

At this time Anthony was networking with many brokers and building their reputation as a reliable carrier, with this hard work they developed a steady lane moving used battery cores from NYC to a Middletown, NY based smelting facility. Resulting in their largest customers being those looking to transport lead to and from a smelting facility.

Also, at this time opportunity was knocking with another customer looking to move Energy drinks throughout the Northeast.
